| In
late 1997, some like-minded health-care professionals
met for a late dinner at a local Athens bistro. They were
united in a vision to trigger what they saw as a health-care
revolution in diabetes care. Simply, to provide a full-service,
technologically-advanced, patient-oriented, humane, clinical
practice, dedicated to the care of micro-vascular disease
in diabetes. The kidneys, eyes, heart, brain and blood
vessels. To serve the North-East corridor of Georgia specifically,
but open to anybody in need of specialized medical care,
from anywhere in the world.
Two
years later, ground was broken for the Athens Kidney
Center campus along North Chase Street in Athens, Georgia.
Since then, we have never looked back. Athens Kidney
Center has rapidly harnessed first-rate medical care
in her quest for medical leadership in kidney, ophthalmic
and vascular disease. We are dedicated to continued
basic research, clinical investigation, community outreach,
and of course, hands-on medical care in our areas of
medical expertise. We aim to be the best at what we
do.
We
have continued to thrive from the continued support
of our immediate community. We are affiliated with the
local transplant centers at Medical College of Georgia
and Emory University to further the cause of our patients.
All our patients, irrespective of income, class, creed
or nationality, are treated as VIP. If it wasn't for our patients, we would not be here in the first place.
Athens
Kidney Center has come a long way. We still have a long
way to go. We will not rest, until our corporate goals
are accomplished. Without question, the journey would
be made easier- and more fun- with your continued support.
We hope your visit with us, marks the beginning of good
things for you and yours.
